BAPS Hindu Mandir Abu Dhabi’s Diwali Celebrations & Guidelines

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 28 October, 2024 – The historic and iconic BAPS Hindu Mandir, celebrated worldwide for promoting love, peace and harmony, is preparing to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors for its first grand Diwali and Hindu New Year celebrations. In its first seven months, the temple has already received 1.5 million visitors and won several prestigious national and international awards for design, architecture, culture and engineering, offering visitors a host of extraordinary experiences. From the revival of ancient art through its intricate hand carvings, to the eco-friendly food court which serves pure vegetarian cuisine, to the ‘Fairy Tale’ immersive show which tells the story of harmony and humanity, the Mandir leaves visitors deeply fulfilled and spiritually uplifted.
As the temple prepares for its first Diwali (Festival of Light) and Annakut (Festival of Food) celebrations,

hundreds of dedicated volunteers are working tirelessly day and night, with wholehearted support from the local government and community at large. On 2nd and 3rd November, the Annakut will mark the beginning of the Hindu New Year. As thanksgiving for God’s grace, hundreds of pure vegetarian dishes will be beautifully offered in creative settings that include lotuses in the desert, peacocks, Ram Setu, Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar, the Jagannath chariot, golden steps and artistic banana leaves.
With thousands expected to attend, special festival arrangements have been made by the Abu Dhabi police and relevant government authorities to facilitate traffic, parking, security and queues.
Due to limited capacity, all visitors are advised to SINCERELY follow these guidelines and instructions:
• All visitors are Required to Register Prior to arriving at the temple.
• ⁠Visitors arriving in their own vehicles must Park at Al Shahama F1 Parking.
• Frequent Shuttle Buses will be provided by the government from the event parking location to the temple site.
• ⁠Avoid bringing bags, metal objects including jewelry and valuables.
• ⁠Allow a minimum of 2 hours for your entire visit experience.

• Thursday 31st October Diwali Darshan: 9 am – 9 pm
• Saturday 2nd November: Annakut Darshan: 9 am – 9 pm
• Sunday 3rd November: Annakut Darshan: 9 am – 9 pm
