Chennai, June 14th 2024: Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) is a renowned group of Educational institutions in India, dedicated to delivering high-quality education across diverse fields. A notable division of HGI is the Hindustan International Schools (HIS), which operates campuses in Guindy, Karapakkam, and Padur, known for their holistic approach to education, ensuring excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities. The school celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 14th 2024 alongside the graduation ceremony for students transitioning to higher education from the Guindy campus affiliated to the Cambridge, UK.
Master Pavan Sakthivel excelled in the Cambridge International Exams, scoring outstanding marks in all subjects and becoming the “A” level school topper, while, Master Rishwanth Srikanth, Ms. Rida, and Ms. Harshitha Jain achieved outstanding ‘A’s in the majority of their subjects, making them the top performers in the IGCSE exams.
In celebration of the school’s 10th year, a commemorative souvenir book titled “HIS” STORY @10 was launched. The book provides a comprehensive history of the school, documenting the inauguration of its three campuses, infrastructure expansions over the years, notable dignitaries visiting the campuses, significant events, student achievements, various awards, and the rankings the school has received.
The chief guest for the event was Mr. Chang-nyun Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, with Mr. Dilip Kottapadath, Senior Regional Manager of Cambridge International Education, as the guest of honor. The event was presided over by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of HGI, along with other esteemed dignitaries from the group and management members of the school.
Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, the Chairman of the school, founded the institution with a visionary approach to provide education that meets international standards. In his presidential address, he expressed his concern about the need of future ready skills among students. This realization led him to create a school that not only focuses on academic excellence but also prepares students for real-world challenges. He encouraged the students to set ambitious career goals and prioritize gaining knowledge by understanding concepts rather than solely focusing on scoring marks. He also highlighted the schools’ participation in various international rankings to gauge their global standing and strive for high rankings each year by maintaining uncompromised educational standards for all HIS students.
He fondly recalled the significant moment of inaugurating the school on June 20th, a date that holds personal significance as it is the birthday of his late father, Dr. KCG Verghese the visionary and extra ordinary leader, whose motto is “To Make Every Man a Success and No Man a Failure”
The chief guest, Mr. Chang-nyun Kim during his speech, expressed his honor in being a part of the school’s milestone celebration. He commended the institution’s dedication to holistic education and its journey of growth and development over the past decade. He also expressed his aspiration for the school to become one of the top global institutions in the future and extended his wishes for continued progress and success in all its future endeavors. He was grateful and overjoyed to be a part of the prestigious occasion.
In his address, the guest of honor, Mr. Dilip Kottapadath, praised the commitment of the school community and highlighted their diverse contributions to providing holistic education to students. He particularly commended the Chairman for introducing the Cambridge curriculum a decade ago, serving as a trailblazer for other institutions and elevating standards in international education.

Hindustan International Schools, a unit of the HGI was established by Dr.Anand Jacob Verghese in the year 2014 and operates in three campuses located in Chennai at Guindy, karappakam and Padur. The school at Guindy offers Cambridge curriculum affiliated to the UK, the Karapakkam and Padur schools are affiliated to the CBSE board.
