AINU Chennai Hospital Organizes its 3rd edition of AINU Kidney Run to Promote Kidney Health

Chennai, 6th April 2025: In a remarkable display of community spirit and commitment to health awareness, Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) Chennai organized a 5k kidney run, attracting participants from diverse age groups. This kidney run aimed to raise awareness about kidney health and the importance of preventive measures. This is the 3rd edition of the kidney run organized by Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology Chennai, spanning 5 kilometers. It commenced from Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School, which saw over 600 people participate.

The event was flagged off by Dr. M. Ravi IPS- Former DGP-TN Police, Dr. K.S Ravikumar, Indian Film Director; and Dr. Arun Kumar Balakrishnan, Managing Director, Chief Consultant Urologist , Robotic surgeon and Uro-Oncologist. The run promoted active lifestyles, hydration, and thoughtful food choices, while highlighting the vital role kidney health plays in preserving general wellbeing.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Ravi IPS- Former DGP-TN Police, said, “This kind of event served as a powerful message of hope and resilience for those battling kidney disease. Beyond promoting physical activity, the event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of kidney health. The event, aimed at spreading crucial awareness about kidney health, saw enthusiastic runners of all ages take to the streets, which is commendable”.

Dr. Arun Kumar Balakrishnan, Managing Director, Chief Consultant Urologist , Robotic surgeon and Uro-Oncologist said, “We are thrilled to witness such enthusiastic participation. It’s heartening to see individuals coming together to raise awareness about this vital aspect of overall well-being. Kidney health is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
