A New Era of Evidence-Based Neuro & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Begins

CHENNAI, Aug 9, 2026: JK Physio & Rehab Clinics on Sunday, launched an Advanced AI Exo Skeletal Robotic device marking a significant milestone in bringing next-generation rehabilitation technology closer to patients across Tamil Nadu.
The centre integrates AI-based robotic rehabilitation, robotic gait training, robotic-assisted exoskeletal rehabilitation, EMG-assisted Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), EMG Biofeedback Rehabilitation, Virtual Reality (VR)-assisted therapy, and other evidence-based neurorehabilitation technologies under one roof to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation for both adults and paediatric patients.
Dr. J.Kalpana, (PT) MPT Neurology, (PhD), Managing Director, JK Physio & Rehab Clinics, inaugurated the device, the first of its kind in India. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kalpana said: “At JK Physio & Rehab Clinics, our vision has always been to combine clinical expertise with advanced technology to provide the highest standards of rehabilitation. The launch of our Advanced Robotic Rehabilitation Centre represents our commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred rehabilitation that helps individuals regain mobility, independence, and confidence. This helps in faster recovery of patients and get back to normal life. Our goal is to make advanced rehabilitation accessible to every patient who needs it,” said in the presence of Dr. V. Jagadeesan (PT) MPT (Orthopaedics),(Ph.D), Chairman, and CEO, JK Physio & Rehab Clinics, which was established in 2007.
Dr. Jagadeesan traced the history of the Clinic since its inception in 2007 and also pointed out to some of the best practices across the world in rehabilitation and physiotherapy. He said their Clinic was committed to bring the most advanced rehabilitation technologies to their patients. The EMG assisted FES device, he said,

brought about a paradigm shift in how neurological conditions could be treated. This latest technology could now give patients, the best possible chance to regain their independence and quality of life, Dr. Jagadeesan added.
Dr. P Senthil Selvam, HOD Vels School of Physiotherapy, and Dr. Balaji Bhashyam, Spine Surgeon, MGM Healthcare, were guests of honour on the occasion. Dr. Bhashyam appreciated Dr. Kalpana and Dr. Jagadeesan for taking this initiative, which he said will go a long way in rehabilitation. Dr. Arjun Selvam and Dr. Ayyappan Balaji of JK Physio & Rehab Clinics were also present.
The EMG assisted FES device is now available at JK Physio and Rehab Clinics’ state of the art facility in Anna Nagar and offers EMG biofeedback rehabilitation and balance and gait training systems as part of its comprehensive rehabilitation services.
