The UAE Journalists Association (UAEJA) received a delegation from Zayed Military University at its headquarters in Dubai, in a visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between national media institutions and academic entities, and exploring opportunities for partnership in areas of mutual interest.
The delegation was welcomed by Fadila Al-Muaini, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the UAE Journalists Association, along with several senior media professionals.
The visiting delegation from Zayed Military University included Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Al-Kaabi, Editor-in-Chief of the Zayed Military University Newspaper; Hussein Al-Manaei, Editorial Secretary; and journalist Afraa Fallah.
During the meeting, Fadila Al-Muaini expressed her appreciation for the delegation’s visit, emphasizing the Association’s commitment to building bridges of cooperation with academic and military institutions across the UAE. She highlighted the pivotal role played by Zayed Military University in attracting distinguished national talents and applying the highest standards of education and training, contributing significantly to the advancement of specialized military and academic education.
Al-Muaini commended the launch of the Zayed Military University Journal, describing it as the first publication of its kind among defense ministries in the region. She noted that the initiative reflects the university’s efforts to strengthen the military media system and document its academic and training achievements with professionalism, accuracy, and credibility.
She added that the publication demonstrates the confidence placed by the UAE’s wise leadership in the university’s role in preparing qualified military and academic cadres capable of meeting future challenges, while supporting institutional defense communication and responsible media practices.
As part of the visit, Al-Muaini presented a comprehensive overview of the UAE Journalists Association, outlining its history, key milestones, founding objectives, and the contributions of prominent Emirati media figures to the development of national and Arab journalism.
The delegation also toured the association’s facilities, including its Media Innovation Center, Training Center, and theater, which accommodates up to 100 people. They were briefed on the various professional, cultural, and training activities organized by the association throughout the year.
Al-Muaini stressed the importance of the visit in enhancing institutional cooperation and exchanging expertise, noting that partnerships with academic and media entities align with the association’s mission to support journalistic professionalism, develop national talent, and raise media awareness in society.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Al-Kaabi stated that the visit aimed to strengthen communication and professional integration with national media institutions, and to benefit from their expertise in developing journalistic performance and reinforcing professional standards. He praised the UAE Journalists Association for its leading role in supporting national media, enhancing media competencies, and promoting the values of credibility, responsibility, and social commitment.

He also commended the association’s advanced facilities and the efforts of its Board of Directors in activating the community role of journalism and media, in line with national and societal values.
At the conclusion of the visit, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Kaabi and the accompanying delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and their aspiration to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in the future. The visit comes as part of the Zayed Military University Newspaper’s efforts to further develop its academic military media experience, in alignment with the UAE’s vision of empowering national media and preparing future leaders with informed, responsible, and professional media awareness.
