BUDDHI CLINIC INTEGRATED BRAIN & MIND CARE A National Conversation on Whole-Person Mental Health and the launch of “Beyond Medication: Whole Person Care”

CHENNAI — 21 AUGUST 2026
Buddhi Clinic invites members of the press to attend the concluding public session of the Second National Workshop on Integrative Mental Health, taking place on Friday, 21 August 2026, from 2:00 to 4:30 PM at Buddhi Mantra, Chennai.
The session brings together distinguished clinicians, scientists, educators and thought leaders from across India for a wider public conversation on the future of mental healthcare. Over the course of the two-day workshop, participants representing psychiatry, neuroscience, integrative medicine, Ayurveda, Yoga, community and maternal mental health, and healthcare technology have explored a central question: how can healthcare move beyond treating mental illness to caring for the whole person?
From Discussion to Direction
The concluding public session will translate these deliberations into a broader conversation for clinicians, families, policymakers and the wider community. Faculty members will share their reflections on the workshop and articulate their vision for Whole-Person Mental Health in India, followed by an open forum and media interaction.
The discussion is intended to help shape clearer and more meaningful public-health messages around mental health—messages that recognise the complexity of the individual and the need to consider multiple dimensions of care rather than viewing mental health through a single clinical lens.
Launch of “Beyond Medication: Whole Person Care”
The event will also mark the release of Beyond Medication: Whole Person Care, the fourth volume in The Buddhi Book series by Dr. Ennapadam S. Krishnamoorthy.
The book examines the philosophy and practice of whole-person care through the perspectives of neuroscience, psychiatry, rehabilitation and technology, while also considering the thoughtful integration of diverse healing traditions. It reflects the broader direction of the workshop: building a more integrated understanding of mental health that brings clinical science, human context and complementary approaches into considered dialogue.
Media Interaction
Members of the media will have the opportunity to attend the session, interact with members of the faculty and engage with the ideas emerging from the national workshop. The interaction is intended to provide journalists with direct access to experts contributing to the evolving conversation on integrative and whole-person mental healthcare in India.
