Chennai, 23rd September 2025: Paterson Cancer Center (PCC), in association with the Cancer Alleviation Foundation (CALF)—a charitable trust committed to building a cancer-free society—celebrated “Rose Day”, a special occasion dedicated to bringing hope, cheer, and support to cancer patients.
Observed annually, Rose Day is a heartfelt initiative to spread joy among cancer patients across major treatment centers in India. At Paterson Cancer Center, the day was marked by meaningful interactions, the distribution of roses, gifts, toys, and personalized messages of encouragement.
The event took place within the premises of Paterson Cancer Center. A key highlight was the involvement of “Cancer Ambassadors”—individuals who have successfully battled cancer and are now disease-free. Their presence served as a powerful symbol of hope and resilience, inspiring current patients with the message that “Cancer is Curable.”
During the celebration, Dr. S. VijayaRaghavan, Managing Director of Paterson Cancer Center, delivered a note of gratitude to the guests and emphasized the importance of adhering to complete treatment for full recovery. He also pledged ongoing financial support for underprivileged patients through CALF, with the help of generous philanthropists. Dr. VijayaRaghavan personally distributed utility kits containing essential daily items to all patients.
The event was graced by Saidai S.A. Duraisamy, Founder-Chairman of Manitha Neyam – Trust for IAS Academy, who kindly served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the critical importance of cancer prevention and early detection, particularly in high-risk individuals. He also pledged continued support through IAS officers trained at his academy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to him for his impactful and insightful address.
