CSR initiative nurtures football talent among Chennai’s government school students~
Chennai, September 8, 2025: LatentView Analytics, an AI-driven analytics and data engineering firm, began Season 5 of Chennai Kaalpandhu League (CKL) on September 8 to 13. This edition will see 43 teams (25 boys’ teams and 18 girls’ teams) competing for the title in the Under-13 category.
The grassroots football programme brings together over 500 under-13 boys and girls from government schools across Chennai in a week-long league format. The league matches are held from September 8 at SDAT Grounds, Nehru Park, with finals scheduled for September 13 at J.L. Nehru Stadium (A Ground), Chennai. The inauguration took place on September 8 at 8:30 AM. Vikram Nanivadekar, Director of Scouting at FC Madras, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He is also the former head of scouting at the All India Football Federation.
“At FC Madras, we believe in nurturing young talent both on and off the field. This program, now in its fifth edition, is a celebration of opportunity—what begins as a game today could grow into a future as a player, coach, physiotherapist, or even a sports surgeon. The possibilities are immense, and we are committed to supporting every child who gives their 100% on the ground while balancing health and studies off the field,” said Mr. Vikram Nanivadeker.
Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Pramad Jandhyala, LatentView co-founder, said: “At LatentView, we believe sport has the power to transform lives.  It instils confidence, builds discipline, and sparks big dreams. The Chennai Kaalpandhu League is not just about football—it is about creating pathways for students who may otherwise lack the opportunity to pursue their passion for sport. We already have 30 players being coached through our RDC with Chennaiyin FC and we are excited to add more talent this year.”
The finals will feature one boys’ match and one girls’ match, with Mr. T Natarajan, Indian team cricketer, and Ms. Narmada Nithin Raju, a national-level air rifle shooter, as chief guests.
The CKL is much more than a tournament. It is a comprehensive football development programme, where FIFA-accredited and SDAT-certified coaches train children under 13 after school. Through LatentView’s Skill Development Centre, scouts from Chennaiyin FC identified children with raw talent and passion for the sport, following which they underwent 40 intensive
training sessions, held thrice a week. They make up the 33 teams in the programme, the rest 10 teams were lateral entries. To expand CKL’s scope and impact, these additional 10 lateral entries are from government schools that register their own teams. Following a pre-qualifier round for 20 teams, six boys’ teams and four girls’ teams were selected to join the league.
In addition to the matches, the CSR initiative is designed for long-term impact. Nearly 20 players this year will be selected to continue their football journey for the next two years, supported by LatentView’s Regional Development Centre (RDC), where professional coaches from Chennaiyin FC will mentor them, giving these youngsters a real shot at state and national trials.
Over the years, CKL has uncovered inspiring stories—such as two girls who secured an SDAT scholarship and another boy who was selected for a training programme in Spain—showcasing how corporate CSR, when deeply embedded, can create tangible outcomes.
The Chennai Kaalpandhu League Season 5 is set to combine competition, community spirit, and future opportunities, reinforcing LatentView’s commitment to empowering young talent beyond the classroom.
